A classic resort located on Muskoka’s Lake of Bays, Traders Crossing has a long history as a beautiful waterfront getaway.
Presented with the opportunity to redevelop the existing property, our vision is to bring this beautiful resort back to life as a modern cottage retreat, seeking to respect and preserve the former resort’s heritage while offering today’s amenities. As a property presented with Official Planned “Waterfront” designation by the Township, it is important for Traders Crossing to restore the waterfront as it was to retain the original character and protected ecosystems.
The redevelopment project will include the construction of 20 commercial resort units plus 1 reception unit. These units will be for sale through a Commercial Resort Condominium Ownership structure, requiring each unit to be available as vacation rental accommodation for a minimum of 10 weeks per year. This is a requirement under the zoning bylaw as a commercial resort, but also prevents the development from becoming a full time residential neighbourhood, while simultaneously providing a return to the Cottage Owner for their investment.
